We’ve had the pleasure of attending lots of celebrity events, but the philanthropic events are ALWAYS the best! We recently were invited to the 4th Annual Darren Collison Youth Basketball Camp, which took place at Etiwanda High School. At first it seemed like the normal basketball camp, lots of kids showing off their best stuff and running through some drills. But this one was different.
It was almost time for our interview with Darren, his agent said we may have to wait a few. She informed us Darren was continuing his camp in the classroom!!?? Wow!
Once we got to the classroom with Darren Collison and company, the staff went over several different scenarios, that the kids were to work out in small groups. The staff presented the following challenges:
* You’re faced with an injury, what should you do?
* You have a friend, but he/she is involved in negative activity, what do you do?
* How should you conduct yourself on social media?
We’ve always had respect for the way Darren Collison conducts himself as a professional, but he deserves applause for what he did during his basketball camp. We salute Darren Collison and his team for their impressive work with OUR Inland Empire youth.
