Area prep student-athletes honored for their achievement not only in competition, but the exceptional efforts in the community and classroom.
(Fontana, CA) We cheer the touchdowns. We applaud the game-winning shots. We delight in a sprinter’s stride, and the cohesiveness of a championship team.
But what about the athlete whose commitment and drive reaches past the boundaries of the field of competition? What about those student-athletes the far exceed academic standards, and make an impact on the lives of other in their community?
The Inland Valley Classic, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which founded the Inland Valley Sports Hall of Fame and coordinates 12 high school all-star games in multiple sports. We felt compelled to honor student-athletes and highlight their efforts in San Bernardino County .
With that, the Honors ceremony was born. Student-athletes selected to be honored were nominated by their coaches, athletic directors and principals. The final selections were based on their participation in Prep athletics, involvement in their community and most important, their outstanding academic achievements.
On Friday, March 23 the Inland Valley Sports Hall of Fame honored its first class of prep student-athletes. A total of 13 outstanding young athletes were honored from across the County.

Outstanding example of these future leaders involvement in the community include Brianna Cabrera, an honors and AP student, all-CIF pole vaulter and senior class president of Don Lugo High. Brianna has been active with the Guide Dogs for the Blind since 2014 and has raised three guide dog puppies, two of which are now a working guides in Virginia and Colorado.
Jerromy Harris of Upland Christian High School, has contributed an abundance of time to his community including assisting various non-profit organizations in outreach efforts, donating blood, and being a summer camp logistics volunteer and Vacation Bible School group leader.
“We are committed to high school sports athletics in San Bernardino County. We are fortunate, to serve on the Board of the Inland Valley Classic, with the success of our all-star games, we are afforded the opportunity to have such a wonderful event, to honor students beyond competition, this about them making an impact in their communities,” said Inland Valley Classic Co-Director, Brian S. Arrington.
“We are proud to be able to create an event that we hope will only grow in years to come. It’s great to when we get a chance to honor the kids involved with sports, that have the highest GPA and spend hours in their community volunteering their time. We hope this will inspire more student-athletes to become involved with their community,” said Inland Valley Classic Co-Director, Eddie Talbert, Jr.
