(Anaheim, CA) With close to 14,000 screaming fans in attendance, the Corona Centennial Huskies made the trip to Angel’s Stadium worth their while! The debate all year was St John Bosco #1 and Centennial #2 in the CIF Southern Section (Some say even in state), but the Huskies showed on the field why they remain #1. With convincing wins over notable SoCal private schools such as West Hills Chaminade, Orange Lutheran and Santa Ana Mater Dei, Coach Logan and his staff lead the Huskies to a show down of last years PAC-5 finals match up.
The final score was 62-52, J.J. Taylor rushed for 269 yards and scored 5 touchdowns! Senior QB Catalano completed 11 of 18 passes for 225 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wide out Javon McKinley caught 7 passes for 132 yards and 1 touchdown, he also threw a 65 yard TD!! The Husky defense made some key stops late in the game and CB #24 Bynum had 2 interceptions.
Corona Centennial (14-0) will take the trip to Sacramento State on Dec. 19 for a REMATCH Concord De La Salle (12-1) for the Open Division championship.
