Agua Caliente Clippers Rally Past Suns In Fourth Quarter

ONTARIO, Calif. — The Northern Arizona Suns were in control most of the night against the Agua Caliente Clippers, but saw their lead quickly evaporate in the fourth quarter. The Clippers took it on Friday night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, 125-113.

The Suns (5-8) led by as many as 15 points and had the lead after the first, second and third quarter. Agua Caliente (8-6) jumped out to a 12-6 run in the fourth quarter, and they finished it off by winning the final frame 48-30.

The 48 points for Agua Caliente in the fourth marks the highest scoring quarter for a Suns opponent this season (was 39 by Rio Grande Valley in the first quarter on Nov. 14 and by the Austin Spurs in the third quarter on Nov. 21).

Alec Peters (23 points), Anthony Bennett (21 points) and Xavier Silas (21 points) provided the majority of the scoring for NAZ in the loss.

Bennett earned his on 9-of-15 shooting to go with four rebounds and three blocks. He is now shooting 56.1 percent on the season, a mark that leads the Suns.

Peters flirted with what would have been his fourth double-double on the year, as he gathered nine rebounds.

Silas shot an 8-of-15 clip, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc, to go with six rebounds. He has now made a three-pointer in 15 straight games.

Mike Young was the only other Suns player to reach double-digit scoring, finishing with 16 points and six rebounds.

Andre Dawkins led the Clippers with 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting. He was one of three ACC players to score 20+ points, a team that improves to 2-0 against the Suns this year. Brice Johnson (21 points on 10-of-15 shooting) was the lone player to achieve a double-double tonight, gathering 11 rebounds. Ike Iroegbu notched 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, six assists and three rebounds off the bench.
