Oklahoma City, OK—The Agua Caliente Clippers used 80% (21-of-26) shooting from the free-throw line to pick up a road win over the Oklahoma City Blue 99-89 on Saturday night at the Cox Convention Center on the second night of a back-to-back. With the win, the Clippers improved to 5-4 on the season.
The Clippers wasted no time establishing a lead, using a 36-point second quarter to pull away by as many as 23 points before the break. The Blue threatened in the third quarter, managing to cut the Clippers lead to just two with just over 12 minutes to play, but a 6-0 Clippers run to start the fourth quarter helped put the game out of reach.
Tyrone Wallace led the way once again for the Clippers with 19 points, while Brice Johnson recorded a double-double, tallying 16 points and 11 rebounds. Andre Dawkins led all bench players with 17 points, matching his season-high. AC Clippers center Marshall Plumlee barely missed a double-double, adding 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Clippers will return home to take on the Memphis Hustle on Tuesday night, when they tip-off at 7 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
