Santa Cruz, CA—The Agua Caliente Clippers’ three game winning-streak was snapped Saturday night, as they fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors 115-100 at Kaiser Permanente Arena, on the second night of a back-to-back.
After dropping their home opener to the Warriors earlier this month, the Clippers looked ready to turn the tides in the teams’ second meeting. The two clubs exchanged leads 15 times in a back-and-forth first half that saw the Clippers trailing by eight points heading into the halftime break. Santa Cruz went on a 7-1 run to start the third quarter, eventually stretching their lead out to 24. For the AC Clippers, it proved to be too much to overcome, despite outscoring Santa Cruz 38-23 in the fourth quarter.
Jamil Wilson led the Clippers offensively, pouring in 31 points and grabbing eight boards. Tyrone Wallace added 23 points, four rebounds and six assists. LaDontae Henton added 15 points, while Marshall Plumlee barely missed a double-double, scoring eight points to go along with ten boards. Five different Warriors scored in double figures.
The Clippers have a week between games, next heading to Nevada to take on the Reno Bighorns on November 18. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at the Reno Events Center.
