Ontario, Calif. – The Ontario Fury is pleased to announce it has added yet another component to its passionate commitment to the local community by teaming up with LifeStream Blood Bank. As part of the cooperation, the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) club will be holding blood drives and have players donate blood while its newest partner will be involved in the Fury Foundation and have a presence at future games and other events. Both parties will engage in social media cross-promotion.

LifeStream, whose mission is to help save lives by connecting donors and patients through the gift of blood, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) blood center founded in 1951 as the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. In 2008, the organization’s name was changed to better reflect the breadth of services offered and its expanding geographical service area. Today, LifeStream provides blood products and services to more than 80 Southern California hospitals and medical facilities in six counties. To fulfill patient needs, it must collect 600 blood donations daily.

To make this mission a reality, LifeStream has fixed-site centers in Ontario, San Bernardino, Riverside, Victorville, La Quinta and Murrieta, where volunteer blood donors can give the gift of life. Keeping donors’ comfort and convenience in mind, the non-profit also conducts about 1,700 mobile blood drives annually at schools, churches, businesses, government offices, hospitals and service clubs. In addition, it partners with donor clubs, schools, community leaders, local media and businesses in order to increase education and awareness of the importance of the daily availability of voluntarily donated blood to hospitals.

Since its launch in 2013, the Ontario Fury has been one of the premier franchises of the MASL, whose 17 member teams are located across the United States as well as in Canada and Mexico. The Inland Empire’s only professional soccer club is committed to success on and off the field and has set a benchmark by way of a variety of community initiatives and youth soccer partnerships. The Fury Foundation was launched to build community through soccer. Its mission – to help children through educational, health and fitness-based programs – can be seen in action at every Health’s A Kick! school assembly.
